Accessibility Statement

Introduction
Coded B.V. ("Coded", "we", "us") is committed to making its commerce platform usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We design and build with accessibility in mind from the start, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time exercise.
Coded is an international company. This statement is written to address accessibility expectations across the jurisdictions in which we operate, and it is intended to satisfy the substance of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) accessibility-statement requirements while remaining meaningful to users worldwide.
This statement applies to the Coded platform and to the services Coded itself provides through it (the "Service"). It is described in more detail under "Scope" below.
Conformance Status
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, Level AA. The WCAG guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, speech, and cognitive disabilities.
Conformance status is described using three categories:
- Fully conformant — the content fully meets the standard without known exceptions.
- Partially conformant — some parts of the content do not fully meet the standard.
- Not conformant — the content does not meet the standard.
The Coded platform is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. Known limitations are listed under "Known Limitations" below, together with our approach to addressing them.
Relationship to the EU Accessibility Act and EN 301 549
The European Accessibility Act references the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, which in turn incorporates the WCAG success criteria. At the date of this statement, the version of EN 301 549 referenced for legal conformity incorporates WCAG 2.1 Level AA, while an update aligning it with WCAG 2.2 is in progress. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA so that we meet the operative WCAG 2.1 Level AA benchmark today and are positioned for the WCAG 2.2 update without retrofitting.

We are aware that accessibility expectations differ by jurisdiction and that other frameworks reference WCAG. In the United States, these include the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, both of which are commonly assessed against the WCAG success criteria. Our WCAG 2.2 Level AA target is intended to provide a single, consistent baseline across these frameworks rather than separate, market-specific implementations. This statement is not a legal determination of compliance under any specific national law.
Scope
This statement covers:
- The Coded marketing and account websites operated by Coded on the
coded.codomain. - The merchant-facing platform interfaces through which a merchant manages their Organization and their projects.
The Coded platform allows a merchant to operate one or more branded online projects, supported by a curated product catalog, built-in payments, and built-in fulfilment.
Third-party and merchant-controlled content
The Service includes content and functionality that Coded does not fully control:
- Merchant-created content. Projects are configured and populated by merchants. Coded provides accessible building blocks, but the accessibility of an individual project also depends on choices a merchant makes (for example, the images, text, colour selections, and media a merchant uploads). We provide guidance and accessible defaults, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of every merchant's published content.
- Third-party services. Some functions rely on third parties. Payments are processed through Stripe and Mollie, whose interfaces and hosted components are controlled by those providers. We select reputable providers and raise accessibility issues with them, but their content falls outside our direct control.
Where a part of the Service is outside our control, this statement covers Coded's own interfaces and the accessible defaults and tooling we provide, rather than the third-party or merchant-controlled output.
Measures to Support Accessibility
Coded takes the following measures to support accessibility:
- We include accessibility as a consideration in design and development reviews.
- We aim to use semantic markup, meaningful structure, and programmatically determinable names, roles, and values so that assistive technologies can interpret the interface.
- We aim to make functionality available from a keyboard and to provide a visible focus indicator.
- We aim to meet recommended colour-contrast levels for text and essential interface elements.
- We aim to provide text alternatives for non-text content that we control, and clear, descriptive labels for form fields and controls.
- We aim to avoid content that relies on colour alone to convey meaning, and to avoid content that flashes in a way that could trigger seizures.
- We design with privacy by design, including cookieless analytics, which avoids the accessibility friction commonly introduced by intrusive consent banners.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of the Service relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on a user's device:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standard referenced above.
Compatibility With Browsers and Assistive Technology
The Service is designed to be compatible with recent versions of widely used web browsers on current operating systems, used together with commonly available assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech-recognition software.
The Service may not work optimally with browsers older than the current and previous major release, or with assistive technologies that are no longer supported by their vendors.

Known limitations of the Service include:

- Merchant-controlled content — the accessibility of an individual published project depends in part on the content a merchant provides. We provide accessible defaults and guidance, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of merchant-supplied images, text, or media.
- Third-party components — certain payment interfaces provided by Stripe and Mollie are controlled by those providers and may not fully meet our target. We raise accessibility issues with our providers.
This section will be updated as our assessment continues and as limitations are resolved.
Assessment Approach
Coded assesses the accessibility of the Service through a combination of:
- internal review during design and development;
- automated testing tools; and
- manual testing, including keyboard-only navigation and testing with assistive technologies.
We have not engaged a third-party body to certify conformance, and this statement does not claim any external accessibility certification.
